The official stats for 2019 won’t be out until August/September 2020 but on the last day of the year and this decade we thought you may be interested in the 100 most popular baby names as recorded by the Office for National Statistics.
You can use this interactive tool to compare changes in the top 100 baby names for boys and girls since 1904.
It shows how there haven’t been any babies called Paul or Gary born for quite some time, how Albert went out of fashion as a name but re-entered the top 100 in the last decade.

The tool shows the top 100 names for baby boys and girls in England and Wales since 1904. It covers 10 yearly intervals between 1904 and 1994 and each year from 1996 onwards.
